FAQ
Egg Armor™ – Frequently Asked Questions
What is Egg Armor™?
Egg Armor™ is a modular egg shipping system built like armor. Our system uses Nest Cores with Vault Cavities, layered with Shielding Pads, inside the Egg Armor Strongbox to protect fertile hatching eggs and table eggs during transit. We sell professional-grade shipping supplies to breeders, hatcheries, and poultry sellers who ship eggs to their customers.
This is not packaging — it’s egg armor.
What is a Nest Core with Vault Cavities?
The Nest Core is the foundation of the Egg Armor system. Each Nest Core features precision-cut Vault Cavities that:
Hold each egg individually
Prevent egg-to-egg contact
Cradle each egg in a protected resting position
Absorb impact while maintaining rebound
Every egg ships in its own vault.
What are Shielding Pads?
Shielding Pads are high-density foam layers used above, below, and between Nest Cores. They are used to:
Build layered kit configurations
Control compression forces
Absorb vertical and lateral shock
Fine-tune total kit height to match your box
Shielding Pads are available in five thicknesses (0.5", 0.75", 1.0", 1.25", and 1.5") to allow precision-built armor stacks.
How does the layering system work?
Egg Armor™ kits are assembled like armor plating — bottom Shielding Pad first, then Nest Core(s) with middle pads between layers, topped with a final Shielding Pad to lock the load. All approved builds are shown in the Shipper Size Guide.
How many eggs can I ship per box?
Chicken Eggs:
Single-Stack (5.5" box): 1 Nest Core = 18 eggs
Double-Stack (8" box): 2 Nest Cores = 36 eggs
Chicken egg kits are limited to two layers maximum due to Nest Core height.
Quail Eggs:
Single-Stack (4" box): 1 Nest Core = 39 eggs
Double-Stack (5.5" box): 2 Nest Cores = 78 eggs
Triple-Stack (8" box): 3 Nest Cores = 117 eggs
For full layer-by-layer build details, see the Shipper Size Guide.
What is the Egg Armor Strongbox?
The Egg Armor Strongbox is our heavy-duty, multi-depth outer shipping box. It ships to you flat and erects to the height you need using built-in score lines — one box covers all kit configurations:
4" — Quail Single-Stack
5.5" — Chicken Single-Stack & Quail Double-Stack
8" — Chicken Double-Stack & Quail Triple-Stack
One box. Three sizes. No wasted inventory.
Can I use USPS Medium Flat Rate boxes with Egg Armor foam?
Yes — for select configurations. The USPS Medium Flat Rate box has a fixed internal height of 5.5" and is compatible with:
Chicken Single-Stack kit — fits directly
Quail Double-Stack kit — fits directly
Quail Single-Stack kit — fits with additional Shielding Pads to fill the extra 1.5" height
The Quail Triple-Stack (8") and Chicken Double-Stack (8") require the Egg Armor Strongbox. See the full Box Compatibility Guide for details.
Do I have to use USPS?
No. The Egg Armor Strongbox works with any carrier — USPS, UPS, FedEx, or regional carriers. The protection comes from the armor system inside, not the carrier you choose.
Can I buy foam without boxes?
Yes. You can purchase any component individually or in bulk:
Nest Cores — chicken or quail
Shielding Pads — all five thicknesses available individually
Egg Armor Strongbox — box only
Complete Foam Kits — foam components only, no box
Complete Box + Foam Kits — everything included
Are these designed for fertile hatching eggs?
Yes. The Egg Armor™ system was engineered specifically for fertile hatching and table eggs, providing:
Individual egg vaulting to prevent contact and movement
Controlled compression to protect fragile shells
Multi-directional impact protection
Reduced vibration and shifting during transit
No shipper can guarantee hatch rates, but Egg Armor™ is designed to maximize egg survival through transit when used within approved configurations.
Will the foam lose its shape?
No. Our foam is selected for soft-pinch compression, strong rebound, and long-term durability. When used correctly within approved builds, the armor resets after impact and can be reused multiple times.
Are Nest Cores and Shielding Pads reusable?
Yes. With normal use, Nest Cores and Shielding Pads may be reused multiple times, making the system cost-effective for high-volume shippers.
How do I know which kit to build?
Use the Shipper Size Guide for approved layer-by-layer build configurations for both chicken and quail kits. If you’re still unsure, contact us at eggarmorshippers@gmail.com and we’ll help you select the right configuration for your egg type and volume.
Are Egg Armor products made in the USA?
Yes. Our foam components and Egg Armor Strongboxes are manufactured in the USA.
Do you guarantee eggs won’t break?
No shipping system can guarantee zero damage. Egg Armor™ is designed to dramatically reduce risk when assembled and used within approved configurations. Once your shipment is handed to a carrier, transit outcomes are outside our control. See our Returns & Refunds Policy and Terms of Service for full details.
